May 14-You can make a difference in ending childhood hunger . . . and get a sweet treat!

May 9

More than 17 million kids in America are at risk of hunger. That’s nearly 1 in 4.

This morning I woke up and proceeded with my daily routine.  Got ready for work, woke up my AI kids, got them dressed, and made them some breakfast . . . and I am THANKFUL that I am able to do so.

However who can ignore the fact that more than 17 million kids in America, nearly 1 in 4, are at risk of hunger?  Most certainly not the non-profit Share Our Strength organization who began their campaign to end childhood hunger back in 1984.

“Share Our Strength’s goal is to end childhood hunger in America. Working with others, we believe we can do this by 2015.”

In San Francisco, over 50 food bloggers are coming together and supporting Share Our Strength’s goal and holding the second annual San Francisco’s Food Blogger Bake Sale.  This effort is part of the National Food Bloggers Bake Sale across the U.S., uniting to support the cause by holding bake sales in their states on the same day.

Please come and support us this Saturday, May 14, as we contribute to the ending of childhood hunger in America.  The bake sale will be hosted at two locations:

18 Reasons: 593 Guerrero Street at 18th Street from 10 AM to 6 PM

Kiehl’s Store: 2360 Fillmore Street at Washington Street from 12 PM to 4 PM

I am humbled to be participating with renowned San Francisco food bloggers, and I will personally be at the Kiehl’s location from 12-1 PM if you would like to meet me and buy a sweet treat from fabulous bloggers.  I would encourage you to check out these two locations and the yummy treats that will be featured at both locations.

If you are unable to join us on Saturday, you can still help!  Go to the San Francisco’s Food Blogger Bake Sale site and click on the Donate Now link.

hi, just wanted to let you know that my 4 year old and I stopped by the bake sale at the Kiehl’s location and my son picked your beautiful macarons. They were AMAZING! So good! I am a huge fan of macarons and these are some of the best I’ve ever had.

I’m marking my calendar for next year because next time I’ll be sure to pick up more then one bag. 😉

Karen thank you very much for taking the time to leave me this delightful comment. I am glad you and your son enjoyed them. I do remember your son–cutie with a red jacket? I remember because he was the very first who selected and bought one of my baked goodies! And I couldn’t have been happier since earlier that morning my own daughter commented on the macarons being her favorite too!

And thank you for supporting the bakesale and Share Our Strength! I too look forward to next year and having the opportunity to bake for you all again :)

Good job on the bake sale! (I dropped my macaron pops off around noon, and I believe we met briefly). It was such a great event, and I’m looking forward to future events like this!
